One of the greatest scenes in cinematic history is the mall scene of “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure.” Extreme, the #84 band on the Gears of Rock’s Top 100, played a special role during that scene. While the historical figures wreak havoc on the San Dimas Mall, Extreme’s energetic masterpiece “Play with Me” soundtracks the mayhem. Extreme is most well-known for their MTV hit ballad “More than Words” from their most successful album “Pornografftti.” Gears of Rock remembers the band for their killer harmonies and guitarist Nuno Bettencourt’s wicked chops. The greatest songs in Extreme’s catalog are “Mutha (Don’t Want to Go to School Today),” “Rest in Peace,” “He-Man Woman Hater,” “Run,” “Get the Funk Out,” “Play with Me,” “Hole Hearted,” “Kid Ego,” “More Than Words,” “Decadence Dance,” and “Comfortably Dumb.”
